Pool Mistakes To Avoid:
-
Having a regular cleaning schedule is highly important when it comes to your swimming pool, whether you enjoy doing it yourself or you’re seeking out professional help. Neglecting your pool equipment can lead to costly repairs and nothing ruins 120-degree summer like a shutdown pool!
-
Equally important as maintaining your pool equipment is making sure you have properly balanced chemicals. Out-of-whack chemicals can lead to the corrosion of equipment, scaling on pool surfaces, and algae growth. During our weekly services, we make sure to test your water and send you emailed reports to keep you up to date on your pool’s levels.
-
Wrong, when it comes to pumps, motors, and filters one size does not fit all. Having the correct size equipment to maintain your pool is very important. Not sure what to look for? Call us today to schedule a free site evaluation, our technicians will do a detailed inspection of your pool so that we can recommend the best setup for you.
-
Many pool owners believe they need to run their pumps constantly. The truth is running a residential pool pump 24/7 is unnecessary, burning up energy and your wallet. Your pool filter should be running for about 8-12 hours, extra run time may be required after higher use, such as a pool party.
-
Allowing the pool water level to drop too low, meaning below the skimmer, is a big no-no. If this happens, the pump will draw air instead of water, resulting in loss of prime and running dry. Catch this in time, stop the dry run, and you might only have to say goodbye to your shaft seal - if this is the case be sure to replace it. Pumps running dry will lead to the unit overheating and possibly melting the pump housing. To avoid the constant worry, consider getting an automatic filler to maintain proper water levels. This can be installed by one of our technicians.
